Synology file won download ds file on ipad

I am uploading almost photos and videos. Finally on the 5th attempt, I kept the phone plugged and app open. Why are there like 10 different Synology apps that can do roughly the same thing? They should pool it all in one app and focus updates on one app instead of specifics. But so far, I like the NAS servers. It will only download photos when the app is open, but I will usually be working on other files as it downloads in the background.

I can view all my stored data, and export files. I can save articles on my phone, and depending on the app, I can either save directly to the drive, or save it on Dropbox and then transfer the file to the drive.

Much easier to use than Goodreader, so I dont use that app as much anymore. Due to its versatility, stability, and ease of use, this is my most used NAS app. Thank you Synology!

I've only just recently started using the iPad in conjunction with my Synology NAS, so this reply may be too late to be of use to the original poster.

Once you have downloaded one or more files to the 'Local Files' using DS File, just open that location in DS File as distinct from the NAS device where you copied the files from , then you should be able to see an 'Open with This dialog will list the files that DS File allows you to edit the document with, this will depend on the type of file. So if DS File doesn't list an application you expect then the best course of action is to raise this with Synology to have support added to their app.
