Firefox display images in browser instead of downloading

New to HTML 5. This markup is easier to understand and is supported by all modern browsers, but may not be supported by all content management systems. If for whatever reason, you cannot add the download attribute in the case that you cannot directly edit the HTML of your web page , you can optionally compress the file using zip, and instruct the user to download the zip file.

You can alternatively explain to the user that they should right click on the link and select download. If you have no other alternatives to force the file to download, you can host it on a file hosting service such as Google Docs. The most common file types that are affected by this behavior are PDF files and images. The code below will tell the browser to prompt the user to save the file.

We expect to have this issue addressed soon. This makes it hard to use Evernote now for creating technical documentation and screenshots because of this. Will this be fixed anytime soon? The Note URLs are less than optimal because it results in a smaller, square cropped image when posting in things like Slack Channels, too. I am using slimjet browser and faced the same problem.

Thanks for your patience while we worked on this. Direct image URLs displaying in the browser are no longer supported on Skitch. I don't even understand why you'd remove this. The webservers clearly support it as you can just load the note URL then click the image and you get the direct URL anyway. It's just forced advertising to make sure people know we're using skitch. But I use this for documentation, not to paste stuff to others.

Fantastic way to treat paying customers. Time to look for another solution and to cancel my premium account. I too used it for documentation and collaboration internally, and now you're really breaking the workflow by purposefully choosing a broken mime type for Evernote servers. Complete jerk move. Totally dislike. It's a pity, I liked and supported Skitch much from the beginning.

Now it is just a tool from the list of mediocre screenshoters. Thanks for posting this info, to remove this functionality is a bad choice by Evernote but one still needs to know that available services are being downgraded,. I've been struggling with this for most of a year, then finally found this thread.

Glad to finally have a resolution. I'm leaving Skitch now in favor of Annotate for Mac. It works great, straight to imgur, local storage in a folder you choose. Disappointing to see this feature be downgraded, and makes my Premium account worthless.

I'm not going to renew, unfortunately paid a whole year in advance. This is indeed very annoying, clearly you are removing a useful feature for the sake of some additional promotion. Really disappointing move. So we figured out what to do if Mozilla Firefox is not loading images. Now, on all your favorite sites the images should be properly displayed.
